Gomez began her acting career on the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). She also serves as executive producer and appears in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery-comedy show Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez received critical praise for the show and also received nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was a part of Selena Gomez & the Scene and released three albums. The three albums all made it to the top ten on the US Billboard 200. They were all certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Stars Dance (2013) was her debut album as a solo artist. Billboard 200, and its first single "Come and Get It" made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. The second album of Gomez, Revival (2015) was released at the top spot in the US. It was certified platinum by RIAA and was followed by three top-ten entries in the US: "Good for You" and "Same Old Love", and "Hands to Myself". Her third studio album, Rare (2020), was her third consecutive top one album in the US and featured the lead single, "Lose You to Love Me", her first number one hit across the US and Canada. The album was also released Revelacion in Spanish and earned her a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won numerous accolades including the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. Additionally, she broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential individuals around the world in 2020. Her following is huge on social media, and is the most followed actor and musician on Instagram.
